Spiritual Formation

Spiritual Formation

As a Christian school, we believe strongly in the modelling of our lives after the image of Christ. Spiritual formation is the process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others. To achieve this, we have embedded various dimensions into the entire school programme to help the children become more like Jesus.

Theme for the Term

Every Session we prayerfully consider a global theme which is further broken down into themes for the term. The theme for each term focuses on a particular subject of interest that we intend to model in the pupils. This theme is further distilled throughout all the weeks in a term. For instance during the 2012/2013 academic session, the global theme was “A New Generation”. The theme for the Alpha (First) Term was Raising A Godly Generation” we learned from Psalm 24. During the Easter (2nd) term, we learned from “Disciplined Men of Bible Times” taking as case studies the lives of men like David, Daniel, Joseph etc. during the Omega (3rd) term we looked at “Becoming like Christ”.  Topics were carefully selected to allow the children comprehend the full dimension of God as they grow to become matured adults. This we believe will help to shape their lives in obedience to God.

Pupils Retreat

Every term, as a school, we hold a retreat for all the pupils. On our retreat days, it is strictly a spiritual affair.

School Fellowship

Every Friday after school, all pupils participate in a joint fellowship. This is an avenue to end the school week in prayers and take key lessons as a summary of all that has been learnt on the assembly in the course of the week.

Prayer Summit

In addition to dedicated sessions targeted at the pa, we also set aside time to pray as a school community (Parents, Teachers and Friends) we take time to pray for the school, the children and our nation at large. See the paper presented by the guest speaker at our last Prayer Summit.
